AIN HELWAN

Name: Ain Helwan
Location: Helwan, Cairo,Egypt
Year: 2015
Ain Helwan’s park is one of Egypt’s most renowned natural therapeutic landmarks, known for its sulfuric water springs that flow from deep underground. These waters are widely used in treating various conditions, particularly dermatological and rheumatic diseases. Established by Khedive Abbas Helmy I, the site gained popularity among locals and foreigners alike. The Khedive designed baths and water basins on multiple levels, connected by flowing water streams cascading over terraced steps, which is registered as a heritage landmark.
The proposed development plan aims to revive the gardens of Ain Helwan while preserving their historical and natural significance. The project includes restoring the wooden pergolas, removing encroachments on the surrounding areas, and installing modern fences, comfortable seating, and fountains to enhance the aesthetic appeal. The goal is to create a unique and memorable experience for visitors, blending history, nature, and relaxation.
