――   PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Faculty of Engineering project at Helwan revitalizes a group of existing academic buildings whose spatial qualities no longer reflected or supported their intended functions. Rather than relying on costly structural overhauls, the design strategy focuses on cost-effective yet impactful interventions that give the campus a renewed identity.

Bold geometric patterns, a refreshed color palette and perforated metal feature panels are used to visually organize the faculty and clearly distinguish its departmental zones, such as Mechanical and Electronics & Communication Engineering, making the campus easier to read and navigate.

In parallel, the outdoor areas and landscaped zones are redesigned into dynamic and engaging spaces, with green courts, shaded seating and pedestrian paths that encourage student interaction and support both academic and extracurricular activities.

These thoughtful design enhancements breathe new life into the architecture while preserving its core structural framework, delivering a modern, vibrant learning environment for students and faculty alike.
