DEVELOPMENT OF FACULTY OF TOURISM & HOTEL

Name: Faculty of Tourism & Hotel
Location: Al Manial, Cairo, Egypt
Year: 2016
Our design for the redevelopment of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels embodies a refined architectural simplicity that harmonizes effortlessly with its unique natural and urban surroundings—including the adjacent landscaped areas, the Nile River, and neighboring campus buildings. The layout thoughtfully accommodates the required student capacity while skillfully responding to the site’s topographical level differences, transforming them into spatial and visual assets.
The building’s basement level is activated through the integration of retail spaces, expanding its functionality beyond academia and fostering interaction with the broader urban context. A prominent and welcoming entrance acts as both a visual anchor and a transitional space, creating a seamless flow between the exterior landscape and the building’s interior. Throughout the design, particular emphasis was placed on creating a coherent and accessible environment that balances utility, contextual sensitivity, and aesthetic clarity. The result is a contemporary academic facility that respects its setting while elevating the user experience through thoughtful, human-centered design.
