FUTURE SCHOOL

Name: Future School
Location: Tiba, luxor, Egypt
Year: 2019
An innovative educational complex set in a harsh desert environment, the project integrates a kindergarten, primary, preparatory, and secondary schools within a unified yet functionally distinct masterplan. The layout intentionally separates each educational level into its own zone to cater to age-specific needs, while connecting them through a centrally located service core that houses shared facilities such as science laboratories, a library, and administrative offices. Each school benefits from a dedicated entrance, ensuring secure, smooth circulation and reinforcing a sense of independence and privacy.
At the heart of the complex, the library stands prominently at the main entrance, serving as a symbolic gateway to knowledge and a daily source of inspiration for students. The design responds thoughtfully to the desert climate, employing passive environmental strategies that enhance comfort and sustainability—most ground-floor structures are elevated to promote natural ventilation and shaded spaces underneath, while voids between buildings are shaped as open-air courtyards that support seating, social interaction, and airflow. Rooftops, particularly in circular and geometrically distinct areas, are optimized for multifunctional use, further enhancing the project’s spatial efficiency. The result is a climate-responsive, future-focused learning environment that balances educational functionality, architectural innovation, and environmental harmony.
