NEW TIBA UNIVERSITY

Name: New Tiba University
Location: Tiba, Luxury, Egypt
Year: 2021
Located within a challenging climate and a contoured terrain, the university’s design responds intelligently to its environmental context by promoting efficient movement across the site through the shortest and most logical circulation paths. At the same time, it introduces a series of small urban nodes—outdoor spaces that offer shade, encourage natural ventilation, and enhance user comfort in the face of harsh weather conditions.
The masterplan strategically separates teaching zones from administrative and academic areas, ensuring both functionality and privacy. Sustainability and energy efficiency are at the core of the design approach, relying on passive design strategies to achieve thermal comfort while significantly reducing energy consumption and long-term operational costs. The centrally positioned library acts as both a spatial and symbolic anchor of the campus, thoughtfully placed in a welcoming location that utilizes site elevation to buffer external noise and improve the overall acoustic environment. This integrated design solution balances environmental responsibility, cost-effectiveness, and spatial harmony—creating a resilient and user-centered campus that aligns with both the natural landscape and the university’s educational mission.
